Due to conflicting and confusing news reports last night we have received several phone calls to see if we are still open. 

The Federal Health Minister, Greg Hunt, confirmed on Monday that "all Allied Health business nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so."

​

Last night Scott Morrison reiterated that Allied Health Services are to remain open at this time.

This is a day to day, hour to hour process and we will endeavour to inform you if we have been advised to close the clinic.

To all our valued clients and families,

 

As we all navigate through these challenging times we wanted to update you on the current situation for East Meets West and the services we can provide.

 

As of this morning, we have had confirmation from the Federal Government that we are able to operate the clinic as usual with the strict infection control precautions and risk management strategies that have been outlined by the health department.

 

The reason we can still offer our services to you is that we are a registered profession with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency) and the World Health Organisation and Australian Federal Government regard Chinese Medicine as an allied health profession.  Allied health is a primary health care service and as such serves an essential need for many people.

 

Many of our patients will know that we are former Registered Nurses and as such deeply understand the nature of what we are dealing with.  Please be assured we are maintaining the strictest infection control policies.  If you have been required to or are choosing to self-isolate, we are more than happy to conduct phone consults and post herbs out to you.  We often do this for our patients in the winter cold and flu season and for our fertility patients who are preparing to conceive or commence IVF.

East Meets West would like to reassure our valued clients that your health and wellbeing is of upmost importance to us. As registered AHPRA health professionals, we are receiving frequent updates regarding the management of the COVID-19 global health crisis.

 

We can assure you that the clinic is exercising a high level of preventative measures to keep our clients safe. As per the Health Department guidelines, we would urge you to not attend any appointments if you have travelled or transited through a country or region that is at higher risk of COVID-19 transmission (e.g. mainland China, Iran, the Republic of Korea or Italy) in the last 14 days OR you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 and you become unwell.

 

As Traditional Chinese Medicine is highly effective at preventative care, we would encourage you to continue with your appointments to reduce stress and boost your immune system during this time.
